一家低档餐馆打工而成为好朋友。她们梦想着开创自己的事业.只要她们能攒足25万美元!

适应能力超强的时髦女孩Max(Kat Dennings扮演)一天打两份工，其中一份是在仿古风潮的威廉斯堡饭店当夜间服务员。精通世故的Caroline(Beth Behrs扮演)是一位信托基金老板的千金，父亲的破产让她失去了一切。为了生存，她不得不放下小姐的尊严到威廉斯堡饭店来工作。

一开始Max认为Caroline这样的千金小姐肯定什么都做不好，最终还要她来替她收拾烂摊子。可她惊讶地发现Caroline不仅很能干，而且丝毫不比她这个明星服务员差。一来二去，这两位女孩成了好朋友。[1]

第1集

Max，一辈子没积攒什么钱，当女服务员是「永恒的工作」，但却知道怎么生活，怎么照顾自己;Caroline，一辈子都在当「公主」(亿万富翁的女儿)，不愁吃来不愁穿，但最近因为父亲的丑闻曝光而成了穷光蛋。Caroline不会当服务员，甚至不知道该如何与交际场之外的世界接触。这样两个女孩竟然成了朋友……

第2集

Caroline决定用自己的方式来帮助Max与男友Robbie尽快分手，并认为这是在帮Max的大忙。

Max带Caroline去跳蚤商店购物，两人为争夺一件T恤衫互不相让。

第4集

Max答应帮助Caroline偷偷溜回老房子拿回急需的夜用护板，这让Max有机会目睹Caroline以前的奢华生活。

第5集

为了给蛋糕生意筹资启动资金，Caroline和Max决定举办一个90年代主题宴会，以吸引嬉皮士富翁的注意。Caroline发现自己的前男友竟然也来了，立刻变得六神无主。

第6集

Caroline想在Max的公寓里替自己安装一张墨菲床(一种不用时可折起放进壁橱的床)。与此同时，Max和Johnny之间的「化学反应」越来越强烈。

第7集

Caroline拉着Max和她一起参加「蛋糕美化班」，希望以此来提升她们制作蛋糕的水平，推动她们的蛋糕生意「再上新台阶」。

第8集

为了多挣点钱，Max和Caroline接下一份清洁工作。但她们没料到这间公寓的主人是个囤积狂，乱七八糟的杂物差点把她们淹没!与此同时，Max发现Johnny对她隐瞒了一个秘密。

第9集

Johnny的女友Cashandra准备将Johnny的画拿到她的艺术展览会上展出，还请来Max和Caroline为展览会制作蛋糕，但两人很快意识到Cashandra绝非善意!

第10集

休假季到来了，但Caroline和Max为了赚更多的钱，不得不放弃休息时间去一家百货公司的「圣诞主题区」打临工。这是Caroline破产后度过的第一个假期!

为了让Caroline的马儿Chestnut有个合适的地方过冬，Max和Caroline决定替它找份差事。与此同时，雇佣Max当保姆的Peach决定报名参加真人秀《TriBeCa娇妻》(Real Housewives of TriBeCa)。TriBeCa是曼哈顿南部的一个住宅和商业区。

第12集(半季终)

Max的烤炉坏了，Caroline决定将一些昂贵的首饰还给Barney的百货公司，换回足够的钱来买新烤箱。Caroline很快发现自己早就被「除名」了，无奈之下，她只好在餐馆里举行临时「珠宝拍卖会」。

第13集(回归)

Caroline对收集购物优惠券着了迷。与此同时，Caroline发现了Max制作蛋糕的绝密配方。注：《超级优惠券迷》和《绝密配方》是两部人气很高的真人秀节目，不知道本集是不是在影射这两部真人秀。

第14集

Max和Caroline楼上的老租户死了，她们对新搬来的人戒心重重，甚至怀疑其与老租户之死有关。

第15集

Sophie(Jennifer Coolidge)决定考验Max和Caroline是否具备足够的「清洁技能」--她当然不想雇佣两个什么都不会的「笨女佣」来毁掉自己的清洁生意!

第16集

看到「盛装」出现的Sophie，Earl立刻心脏病发作……Max和Caroline不得不放弃情人节的计划，在医院陪伴Earl度过难关。与此同时，Caroline想要和一个老情人重修旧好。

第17集

Max和Caroline准备在一个犹太少年成年礼上销售她们的蛋糕，但麻烦的是……她们必须首先让这些蛋糕符合犹太教的规定。
